About us

About IgA Nephropathy News

IgA Nephropathy News is a news and information website for people living with IgA nephropathy (IgAN), their caregivers, and anyone following the science. We report on research, treatments, and clinical trials; explain the condition in plain language; and publish first-person columns from people affected by IgAN.
The site launched September 2026 as part of the Bionews network of rare disease communities.

What you will find here

  • News: Reporting on research, clinical trials, approvals, and policy that affect the IgAN community
  • Disease guides: Plain-language pages on causes, symptoms, diagnosis, treatment, approved and experimental treatments, and life expectancy
  • Living with IgAN: Pages on complications, fatigue, exercise, diet, and pregnancy
  • Columns: Personal perspectives from patients and caregivers
  • Newsletter: Regular updates via email
  • Forums: Moderated discussion boards launch November 2026; members can ask questions and compare experiences with treatments, trials, and care teams

How our content is made

News articles and disease guides are written by science writers with a master’s or doctoral degree in the life sciences. Every article is  fact-checked by PhD science editors or vetted through our medical review process before our veteran copy editing team reviews it for clarity, style, and grammar. Columns are written by people directly affected by IgAN and are also edited and fact-checked.
Advertisers and sponsors do not influence what we publish. Read our Editorial Policy and Corrections Policy for the full standards.
