Patrick Cunningham, MD

Dr. Patrick Cunningham is a nephrologist based in Chicago, IL. He is a graduate of Tufts University School of Medicine, and completed his residency in Internal Medicine and his fellowship in Nephrology at the University of Chicago. Dr. Cunningham is an expert in the diagnosis and treatment of glomerular and autoimmune diseases, as well as the care of kidney transplant recipients. He has special interest in performance of kidney biopsies and point of care ultrasound (POCUS). He has contributed significantly to the field through publications on topics such as focal segmental glomerulosclerosis, acute kidney injury, and transplant rejection. His work has been supported by NIH funding and published in well-regarded journals such as Journal of Immunology, Transplantation, and Nature Communications. He is a Fellow of the American Society of Nephrology.
